About BISA
Bali Bersama Bisa & BISA
Caring for the growing mental health needs of our community.
With the motto “Together We Can” or “Bersama Kita Bisa,” all communities within the Bersama Bisa Foundation are dedicated to transforming the BISA Helpline services into a comprehensive platform where individuals can access online counselling, resources, and information. BISA aims to establish a nationwide mental and emotional crisis support network in Indonesia, with a focus on suicide prevention, devoid of discrimination, and open to all individuals seeking assistance, with services available in both Indonesian and English languages.
Our Mission
Contributing to a tomorrow in which mental health and addiction crisis issues are de-stigmatized and emotional/mental crisis is embraced as an opportunity for healing, growth, and loving connection.
Our Vision
Providing an Indonesia wide mental/emotional crisis support network, free of discrimination and inclusive to all in need of help, in both Indonesian and English languages.
Our story
BISA (Bersama Bisa Foundation) is an organization in Indonesia dedicated to supporting emotional healing and dismantling the stigma surrounding mental health and addiction issues. We firmly believe that with adequate support systems, everyone can pursue their dreams. BISA provides crisis support services through its call center, offering free online counselling to provide a listening ear, access resources, and extend assistance to those in need.
Additionally, we operate a Support Buddies program that pairs individuals with others who have overcome similar challenges. In cases where our Volunteer Support Buddies are unable to assist, we have a team ready to connect individuals with professionally trained experts for further support. Our overarching goal at BISA is to unite people worldwide with the most suitable support, whether it’s from within their own country or abroad, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
The Bersama Bisa Foundation was established in October 2020 by 12 marginalized NGOs and mental health and disability communities in Indonesia. Our primary objective is to raise awareness and combat the stigma surrounding mental health issues, striving to foster an inclusive environment for those facing mental and emotional crises.
In April 2021, the foundation launched the LISA Suicide Prevention Helpline, the sole helpline of its kind in Indonesia, offering round-the-clock assistance to a population of approximately 265 million people. Our mission is to prevent suicides and provide support to individuals in crisis, aiming to curb the alarming rate of suicide attempts and tragedies. The BISA Project, initiated by the Bersama Bisa Foundation, focuses on raising awareness about suicide prevention and extending support to those in need.
We firmly believe that by bringing people together, lives can be saved, and future tragedies can be averted. The BBF (Bersama Bisa Foundation) community is committed to preventing suicides, raising awareness, and working towards establishing a society where mental health issues are openly discussed, and readily available support is provided.
